Mogens Koch, Folding Chair - lye and soap finished beech and harness leather
Mogens Koch (1888-1993). Folding Chair – a tribute to the classic director’s chair – made its debut in 1932. The Folding Chair design is both functional and beautiful.
Manufactured by Interna.
Uniquely self-stabilizing – the act of sitting in the chair gives it stability – the Folding Chair continues to appeal to design enthusiasts searching for a comfortable, singular form that is also the perfect design solution for smaller spaces. The chair is an elegant alternative to traditional guest seating, and is easy to set up and pack away thanks to Koch’s smart and simple folding mechanism.
This chair is made from lye and soap finished beech with a complete upholstery in handmade harness leather.
The seat, back rest and armrests are made from natural harness leather of the best quality. The seat has a layer of linen canvas to create extra support.
All cutting, stitching and treatment is done by hand, and the edges have been polished and burnished with wax.
*Please notice: The colour of the leather in the picture has changed to a darker shade. The wood is also a great deal darker in the picture.
Both leather and wood will gradually change to a darker shade due to oxygen, sunlight and use.
